A former team member emailed us a couple of weeks ago. She asked us if we remembered a girl named Haru-san that Matt studied the Bible with when we were in Tokyo. I told her we did and that God gave me the opportunity to lead her mother, Mi-san, to the Lord 3 or 4 years ago. She said, “A couple of weeks ago Haru-san accepted Christ!!! It was a totally random meeting of one of our journey girls… who was out doing 5 minute English lessons on the street corners with a team one day and Haru-san came up to talk to her. In the conversation right there, Haru-san said she was ready to become a Christian, and did. She is doing great, [our journey girls] are following her up and it’s going really, really well.” Three of the Tokyo journeygirls and Haru-san have since talked to some girls about God. Haru-san shared her testimony but the girls weren’t interested in learning more. When Haru-san was told that not everyone would be open and not to be discouraged, she said, “yeah, it’s seed planting!” She’s only been a Christian for a few weeks but she’s already out witnessing to the Japanese! Pray for her growth and time of discipling. We really hope to meet up with haru-san and her mother, Mi-san when we get back to Japan. It’s neat to see how God plants seeds, waters them, and then produces growth – even while we are gone!
